Online

What you'll learn:

This course helps participants create a toolkit to begin their novel and be prepared to see themselves through the process from inception to a finished book.

What you'll do:

Have you always wanted to write a novel but aren’t sure how to get started? Or maybe you’ve tried writing a novel once or twice, only to fizzle out and give up somewhere around page fifty. In this workshop we’ll examine the building blocks that make for a complete and compelling novel; then, guided by masters of the novel form, we will utilize brainstorming and writing exercises to craft the foundational elements of the story you want to write. Although the course is virtual, we will be meeting together online to discuss the course materials, to ask questions, and to build community with other like-minded writers. The goal is for participants to be fully outfitted for the novel-writing journey and well on their way into their first drafts by the end of the five-week course.

Who this course is designed for:

Anyone interested in writing a novel.

What you'll receive:

Students will produce the foundational elements of their novel and walk away with a toolkit to begin their novel and be prepared to see themselves through the process from inception to a finished book.
