Frequently Asked Questions

What is blended learning?

Blended learning is the strategic combination of online and in-person instruction. Sometimes it is called a hybrid or flipped learning model. During this learning session we study the foundations of blended learning. Learners will explore the rationale behind blended learning and ask the question, "why blend?". We will unpack how we can make learning more about the student's individual needs, wants, interests, and goals. Discuss how data practices and blended learning courses improve the mastery of content.

Will you provide detailed resources for continued exploration and examples?

Yes. We include access to the ultimate blended learning resource, "K-12 Blended Teaching: A Guide to Personalized Learning and Online Integration," co-authored by one of our instructors, Dr. Archambault. This book is complete with detailed learning system management examples, video documentation of blended learning in the classroom, and everything needed for a comprehensive understanding of blended learning you can explore during the course or afterward as your journey begins.

Is this an introductory class?

No, this Studio space is for those educators who already have working ideas they wish to flesh out, or previously used and tested lessons, activities, or projects they wish to refine and improve. Each educator will get to ask questions from their peers and answer other's questions too! The course uses an easy technology platform called Flipgrid as a way to get you set up and on your way to making connections and gaining insights that will enrich your Blended Learning journey.
