What you'll do:

Students will learn about power grid operation, generation, and transmission emergencies and evidence of cyberattacks on a grid system. This knowledge is applied through attack and defend scenarios where students execute dispatch and switching orders to mitigate physical system damage


Learning Objectives:

  • Understand basics of power grid infrastructure including generation, transmission, and distribution
  • Manage transmission system contingencies under normal and emergency system operation
  • Recognize evidence of cyberattacks on a transmission system
  • Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities in operational technologies
  • Apply knowledge of power system vulnerabilities to identify cyberattacks
  • Execute dispatch and switching orders to mitigate physical damage to power system equipment caused by cyberattacks

What you'll do:

Students will engage with subject matter experts from IncSys and apply knowledge through real-time simulated attack and defend scenarios.
