Empathy in Healthcare for Practitioners and Patients

In this engaging presentation we will conduct a hands on workshop highlighting the role that empathy and mindfulness plays in healthcare and well being. During this extraordinary time where COVID-19 has already claimed 200,000 lives in the United States and healthcare practitioners and individuals are under tremendous stress and often feel disconnected. Thus it seems appropriate to address the role that empathy and mindfulness must play in a holistic model of health that accounts for mind, body, and emotional well being. We will draw on memoir, mindfulness exercises, and empathetic practices as a way of managing stress and holistic care.
