What you'll learn:

One of the key functions of a manager is to ensure that all parts of the organization are working to achieve the overall strategic objectives of the company. Properly designed and implemented controls are the method by which managers carry out this responsibility. In this course, you will learn about business control processes and other tools that are extremely important for managerial success. Become familiar with these various tools—they will serve you well in the future.

Modules and content:

Students will learn the fundamental principles of managerial control. You will understand the different types of controls that managers can use. You will also learn about tools such as the Balanced Scorecard to monitor and enhance organizational performance. Case studies illustrate what these principles look like in practice.

Elizabeth Castillo, PhD

Elizabeth A. Castillo is an Assistant Professor of Leadership and Interdisciplinary Studies at Arizona State University. She earned a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies at the University of San Diego after a 20-year career managing social enterprise organizations. She is an avid hiker and nature photographer.
