Full course description
What you'll do:
Students will learn about power grid operation, generation, and transmission emergencies and evidence of cyberattacks on a grid system. This knowledge is applied through attack and defend scenarios where students execute dispatch and switching orders to mitigate physical system damage
Learning Objectives:
- Understand basics of power grid infrastructure including generation, transmission, and distribution
- Manage transmission system contingencies under normal and emergency system operation
- Recognize evidence of cyberattacks on a transmission system
- Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities in operational technologies
- Apply knowledge of power system vulnerabilities to identify cyberattacks
- Execute dispatch and switching orders to mitigate physical damage to power system equipment caused by cyberattacks
What you'll do:
Students will engage with subject matter experts from IncSys and apply knowledge through real-time simulated attack and defend scenarios.
