Program Description:

The ASU Spark Method™ is a conversational design tool that allows teams to quickly move from discussing a problem to implementing an action plan of ideas crowd-sourced from the team’s collective wisdom. Spark empowers individuals at any level within an organization to confidently and skillfully approach the challenges they face with the training and tools needed to implement effective change. ASU Spark ignites motivation, lifts morale, and builds a culture of autonomy where each individual trusts and values the collective understanding that innovation starts with me™. This concept, that creativity and invention live in all levels of the organization, regardless of title or authority, is what drives The ASU Spark Method™.

The ASU Spark Method™ Facilitator Certification is a 5-hour virtual, synchronous program designed and delivered by The ASU Spark Method™ co-creators to train and certify new Spark Facilitators. The course is followed by a 45-day applied project phase where participants will implement the skills they learned in the course by facilitating a Spark workshop and completing a report reflecting on the experience. In addition to gaining valuable technical and professional skills, Spark Facilitators become conversation designers with a deep understanding of the Spark Method and the tools to facilitate discussion for a variety of topics that range from process improvement to strategic planning and goal setting.

Spark facilitators have held hundreds of sessions with meaningful and tangible impact in topics ranging from process development to community engagement and leadership training. Cary Lopez

Cary is passionate about designing organizational processes, structures, and cultures that allow people to flourish in their workplaces. While her career journey has taken a somewhat winding path – including everything from helping startups launch, to auditing public companies, to running large HR departments and everything in between – the core of her passion has remained the same: to work with the people of an organization to create a positive culture, where all members can thrive. She is one of the co-creators of the ASU Spark Method™, a problem-solving approach designed to help teams move from issue to action. When she’s not at work, she’s chasing her two young kiddos around, completing a Ph.D. program at the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication, and sharing all of the craziness that is their life with her husband.
