What you'll learn:
This seven-day career acceleration course is for students, alums or anyone pursuing careers in the entertainment business and covers the following topics:
THE BUSINESS OF YOU
Students learn how to land that job by developing effective “living” bios and resumes, and, most importantly, a compelling personal story that illustrates why they'll make the perfect employee. Students put it all into practice in "mock-interviews" with industry professionals. Taught by Emmy nominated Writer/Producer and ASU alum, Howard Burkons.
CATCHING AND PITCHING
Rookie creatives and executives learn the art of listening, pitching and persuading, and then test their newly acquired skills in "mock-pitch sessions" with working Hollywood professionals. Taught by Writer/Professor, Warren Lewis
NETWORKING AND THE TRADES
Students learn how to find and nurture meaningful, long lasting professional relationships and how to track and capitalize on trends in film, TV and new media found in the “trades” (i.e. industry news publications) for the purpose a creating a fruitful network and professional opportunities.
Additionally, each instructor will bring guest industry professionals to their module to further this enriching experience. And on the final day, the Boot Camp ends with a Hollywood Sun Devil Mixer in which you will mingle with ASU alums as well as industry pros, putting what you’ve learned to good use! Instructor for this class is TBD.
