When journeys go awry: innovation on a crooked line
"The right way to wholeness is made up, unfortunately, of fateful detours and wrong turnings. It is a longissima via, not straight but snakelike, a path that unites the opposites in the manner of the guiding caduceus, a path whose labyrinthine twists and turns are not lacking in terrors.” (Jung, Psychology and Alchemy)
When innovating our way forward, our best laid plans are as likely to lead to fateful detours and wrong turnings--side roads, breakdowns, misadventures--as to success, victory, or recognition. These crossroads offer something of immeasurably great value: the acknowledgment of contradictions, the union of opposites, the right way to wholeness. We can find allies at the crossroads--strange and unexpected allies shrouded in ambiguity, whose familiarity with the darkness, detours, and the dead may be just what we need to walk the long, exhilarating--and sometimes terrifying--road to wholeness. In this interactive and exploratory workshop, participants will: map out hoped-for destinations, retrace detours and wrong-turnings that have led you to this point, and find a shrouded ally to help you along the road to wholeness. Join us at the crossroads and invite allies to help you along your innovation journey.
