The Power of Pausing: Reflection for Principled Innovation.
In a culture where innovation has the potential to move fast and break things, hitting pause to spend time in quiet contemplation seems antithetical to rapid change and improved performance. In reality, regular self-reflection builds the skills and qualities we value in leaders and innovators, including empathy, humility, accountability, decision-making, and self-awareness. By seeking to understand who we are and how our thoughts, feelings, and actions affect others (and vice versa), we can uncover insights that lead to better designs and processes that help us center humanity while meeting the needs of the communities we serve. To get to those meaningful realizations, we need to know which questions to ask.
In this interactive workshop, the Principled Innovation team will guide participants through exercises using reflective and generative questions. Attendees will learn different ways to engage in self-reflection and how it can be used as a powerful tool in three key areas - personal and professional development, navigating uncertainty, and process improvement. In addition to resources to support them as they build a reflection practice, participants will hopefully leave with some new insights about themselves and their work.
