Multidimensional Decision Making: Behind the Scenes at Decision Theater

This workshop will introduce you to Decision Theater’s approach to communicating complex problems through interactive information technology and collaborative research methodology.

We will explore examples of complex systems as they exist in our world through hands-on interaction with Decision Theater software models. These projects navigate diplomatic security training in international crisis situations and intervention strategies for mitigating land degradation across the globe.

Participants will engage in the first step in Decision Theater’s model creation process through a facilitated Design Thinking session. This will prompt students to think of this problem from a multidimensional perspective and expand their understanding of the problem’s complexity.
