ECOtarot readings

Artist and Professor Adriene Jenik will offer her popular ECotarot readings online to interested students. In these readings, Jenik “channels” scientific research and modelled projections related to our changing, human-influenced climate through the layered form and meanings of tarot. The tarot is an ancient ever-evolving system that utilizes symbolic communication. Preliminary results of a pilot research project studying the ECOtarot practice reveal that it deepens understanding of the participant's own agency in the face of climate uncertainty, and models best practices for science communication. During Fall 2020, Jenik premiered offering readings online and will offer a select number to students during the innovation quarter.
