ASU Polytechnic Campus Demand Response Implementation

In early 2000, Salt River Project (SRP) invited the ASU Polytechnic Campus to participate in their Demand Response program for Commercial, Institutional, and industrial organizations. This program allows organizations to earn incentive payments by reducing electrical usage on critical peak usage days. Although participation sounds simple, the ASU Polytechnic Facilities Management Team had to find an innovative solution to implement energy reduction within two hours of notification. Please join us to learn how we implemented a solution that resulted in a sizable incentive payment to ASU, strengthened our relationship with SRP, improved grid stability, and reduced electrical consumption.
